This picture from Stacy Jacobs's Bridge Blog showing a bunch of young Bridge Professionnels (from left to right : Kevin Bathurst, Shannon Cappelletti, Stacy Jacobs, Justin Lall, Ron Smith, John Kranyak. Photo courtest of Cata Robles ) at Gatlinburg Tournament, the biggest regional tournament ever, with 5,100 tables in seven days, shows quite a different face of bridge, far from the impression that "Bridge was played only by old people who spent the majority of their time complaining that all music these days just sounds like noise, or perhaps sitting around talking about how much fun it is driving on the freeway with their left blinker on for no apparent reason, just to mess with everybody else's minds. " quote from Badmonster, begginners Bridge Log. The Picture shows Justin Lall author of "Squeezing the dummy", one of the most interesting bridge Blog on the web. Justin wrote a post about " in the cards", a one-hour television documentary about one of the most exciting partnerships in the world of bridge, Gavin Wolpert and Vincent Demuy. The film follows them "as they struggle first to prove themselves as a professional partnership, and then to maintain their partnership, and even their friendship, as the competitive pressure mounts"for "playing your cards well is only half of the game. The other half, which is perhaps even more challenging, is dealing well with your partner. The relationship that exists between two bridge partners is often as intimate, as complicated, and as volatile as a marriage. It's that dynamic that separates bridge from almost every other game. And it's that dynamic that makes the game so exciting"quote from CBF. When your Partner is your husband, the relationship is even more demanding and requires maturity.
